Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Learning Support Assistant to support students in secondary schools across the Fareham area. This role involves helping pupils with learning, organisation, engagement and behaviour, both 1:1 and in small groups, under the guidance of teachers.

The ideal candidate will have experience with young people, be patient and approachable, with strong communication skills, and be flexible to work in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people
• SEN experience beneficial but not essential
• Safeguarding training can be provided

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support and small-group interventions for students
• Support pupils during lessons across a range of secondary subjects
• Help students stay engaged, focused, and motivated in their learning
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
• Encourage positive behaviour and learning habits
• Support students' confidence, independence, and academic progress
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
