Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school in Birkenhead. We are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team and provide vital support to students with a range of needs.

Qualifications

  • Have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant within a secondary school.
  • Have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Be patient, flexible, and committed to helping young people succeed.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Be confident working both independently and as part of a wider school team.
  • Be proactive, reliable, and able to adapt to the varying needs of students.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting students with their academic work across a variety of subjects.
  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs where required.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support students with a range of additional learning needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop confidence, and thrive in the classroom.
