Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a secondary school in Bristol. The role starts in September 2026 and pays £96.25 to £105 per day.

You will work alongside experienced teachers to support students across Key Stage 3 and 4, delivering interventions and helping create a positive learning environment. Suitable candidates include aspiring teachers, Education Psychology graduates, or graduates pursuing a career in education, with a focus on supporting SEN/SEMH and student

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in schools or educational settings.
• Confidence supporting students one-to-one and in small groups.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies.
• Experience supporting students with SEN and/or SEMH is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, patient and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a secondary school.
• Deliver small group and one-to-one interventions to overcome barriers to learning.
• Encourage positive behaviour and a calm classroom atmosphere.
• Contribute to an engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.
