Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to lead classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacher. The role offers a 3:30 PM sign-off with no marking or planning required.

You will deliver pre-set work, guide learning, and maintain a positive learning environment while working 8:30 AM–3:30 PM. Weekly PAYE applies and local Sussex placements are common.

Qualifications

• Ability to command a room with enthusiasm and professional maturity.
• Backgrounds in education, youth work, sports coaching, or performing arts are highly valued.
• Standard availability during school hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Lead classes across Key Stage 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Deliver pre-set work, answer pupil questions, and ensure students stay focused on tasks.
• Maintain positive classroom behavior using clear boundaries, encouragement, and calm authority.
• Hand back completed work and submit brief, essential attendance notes before clocking out.
