Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a confident Secondary Cover Supervisor to lead classes in Key Stage 3–4 across Brighton, Hove and coastal Sussex. No marking or planning required, just hands-on supervision and positive classroom presence.

You’ll deliver pre-set work, maintain discipline, and ensure a smooth end-of-day handover. The role runs 8:30am–3:30pm with weekly PAYE pay and consistent local placements.

Qualifications

• Presence: ability to command a room with enthusiasm and professional maturity.
• Versatility: backgrounds in education, youth work, sports coaching, or performing arts are valued.
• Reliability: Availability during school hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
• Vetting: Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Room: Oversee classes across Key Stage 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Guide Learning: Deliver pre-set work, answer pupil questions, and ensure students stay focused on tasks.
• Set the Vibe: Maintain positive classroom behavior using clear boundaries, encouragement, and calm authority.
• End-of-Day Transition: Hand back completed work and submit brief attendance notes before clocking out.
