Job summary

GSL Education in Doncaster is seeking a committed Behaviour Support staff member to assist students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with behavioural and emotional challenges, helping them stay engaged in lessons and build positive habits.

You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a calm, inclusive classroom where pupils can progress, with a focus on safeguarding and strong professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting secondary-aged children or young people is desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to challenging situations.
• Ability to work with teachers and pastoral teams.
• Committed to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged students with behavioural, emotional and social challenges.
• Work with subject teachers to encourage engagement and positive behaviour in lessons.
• Help students manage transitions between lessons and follow classroom routines.
• Build supportive professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
• Encourage self-regulation, respectful communication and responsible choices.
• Share relevant updates and concerns with teachers and pastoral staff.
