Job summary

GSL Education in Doncaster is seeking a Behaviour Support worker to assist secondary students with behavioural, emotional and social needs. You will collaborate with teachers to promote positive engagement, help students settle into lessons, and maintain consistent classroom routines.

Ideal candidates will have experience supporting secondary pupils, strong communication skills, and the ability to uphold boundaries in line with school policies.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting secondary-aged students desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach to challenging situations.
• Confidence maintaining boundaries and following school behaviour policies.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers and pastoral teams.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged students with behavioural, emotional and social challenges.
• Work with subject teachers to encourage engagement and positive behaviour in lessons.
• Help students manage transitions between lessons and follow classroom routines.
• Build supportive professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
• Encourage self-regulation, respectful communication and responsible choices.
• Share relevant updates and concerns with teachers and pastoral staff.
