Qualifications

• A qualified Art Teacher who can teach across the appropriate key stages.
• Formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Strong knowledge of drawing, painting, mixed media and other relevant artistic techniques.
• The ability to develop creative projects that build practical skills and independent thinking.
• Experience supporting students with research, sketchbook development and portfolio work.
• The ability to assess creative outcomes and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Effective classroom management and good organisation of materials and resources.
• A commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding and student achievement.
• Legal eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Teach Art across the relevant key stages and deliver a curriculum that encourages students to experiment with materials, investigate artistic styles and develop a sound understanding of visual communication.
• Plan lessons that build skills from foundational drawing and observational techniques to more complex projects involving research, experimentation and final outcomes.
• Assess portfolios and practical projects, providing clear feedback and helping students understand how to improve their work.
• Encourage students to reflect on their progress, take creative risks and develop resilience when responding to challenges.
