Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join a mixed secondary school in Norwich. You will inspire students through practical and imaginative learning across key stages, developing skills in drawing, painting, and mixed media.

The role involves planning lessons, creating resources, assessing work and guiding students from initial ideas to finished pieces, while fostering sketchbook work and research of artists in an inclusive, supportive department.

Qualifications

• An Art Teacher capable of teaching Art across the relevant key stages.
• A formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Strong practical knowledge of relevant art techniques, materials and processes.
• The ability to plan stimulating projects that develop creativity and technical proficiency.
• Experience assessing practical work and providing constructive feedback.
• An understanding of differentiation and inclusive approaches to creative teaching.
• Strong classroom management and organisation skills, including responsible management of art materials.
• A commitment to safeguarding, student progress and professional development.
• Legal eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and prepare resources.

• Support students in developing sketchbooks and researching artists.
• Balance structured skill development with opportunities for experimentation and independent creativity.
