Job summary

MERJE is recruiting a Compliance Manager – Banking for a Chester-based, hybrid role. You'll operate in a Second Line capacity, shaping regulatory and conduct risk approaches as the bank grows, with high visibility to senior stakeholders.

You'll own the Compliance Monitoring Plan, provide independent challenge on key regulatory risks, advise on FCA requirements, support new products, and deliver MI for governance forums while helping to scale the compliance framework across the business.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' compliance experience in banking.
• Provide independent challenge, oversight and regulatory advice.
• Strong knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework.
• Experience across horizon scanning and regulatory change.
• Experience presenting to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the Compliance Monitoring Plan with risk-based coverage.
• Provide independent challenge on regulatory risks and controls.
• Advise on FCA requirements and conduct risk.
• Support new products and strategic initiatives from a compliance perspective.
• Produce MI and insights for governance forums.
• Serve as Second Line Compliance SME and escalation point.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business.
• Help develop a scalable compliance framework.
