Job summary

MERJE is seeking a Compliance Manager – Banking in Chester, offering hybrid work arrangement and a salary up to £55,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits. The role is a Second Line position focused on shaping regulatory and conduct risk for a growing UK bank.

You will lead regulatory advisory, oversight, monitoring and risk insight while engaging with senior stakeholders to ensure a scalable, robust Compliance framework.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulatory advisory, oversight and risk insight.
• Ability to provide independent challenge and regulatory advice.
• Strong knowledge of FCA regulatory framework and conduct risk.
• Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and enabling business changes.

Responsibilities

• Own the Compliance Monitoring Plan with risk-based coverage and outputs.
• Provide independent challenge around regulatory risks, controls and thematic areas.
• Advise on FCA requirements, conduct risk and regulatory matters for the business.
• Support regulatory horizon scanning and change management impacts.
• Produce MI and insight for governance forums and risk trends.
• Act as Second Line Compliance SME and escalation point for regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with leadership across risk/governance forums to improve the framework.
