Job summary

MERJE is seeking a Compliance Manager for a banking client in Chester, offering hybrid working arrangements. The role focuses on regulatory and conduct risk s and will involve oversight, advisory, and risk insight functions within the Second Line. The salary is up to £55,000 plus bonus and benefits.

You will work with senior stakeholders to shape how compliance evolves as the business scales, across monitoring, horizon scanning, and regulatory change management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' Compliance experience, preferably in banking.
• Knowledge of FCA regulatory framework and conduct risk.
• Experience providing independent challenge and regulatory advice.
• Experience in regulatory horizon scanning and change assessment.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the Compliance Monitoring Plan with risk-based coverage and outputs.
• Provide independent challenge around regulatory risks, controls and themes.
• Advise on FCA requirements, conduct risk and regulatory matters.
• Support new products and strategic changes from a Compliance perspective.
• Interpret regulatory requirements clearly to stakeholders.
• Produce MI and insights for governance forums, highlighting risks and trends.
• Act as Second Line Compliance SME and escalation point for regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with leadership and risk/governance forums to shape the framework.
