Job summary

Compass Group UK&I, Defence division, is recruiting a Chef on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) to deliver high-quality food experiences for Defence clients. The role includes menu oversight, inventory management, and supporting menu development across a motivated team.

We seek someone with City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ, a Food Hygiene certificate, and a flexible approach. Attractive benefits accompany the position as part of a large UK food service provider.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Experience supervising a team in a food service setting.
• Food Hygiene certificate and good hygienic practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes and improvements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance food services and concepts.
• Listen to customer feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Support creation of new menus and creative concepts.
• Represent Defence and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories and keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning and maintain hygiene standards.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
