Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting for a Seasonal Mail Sorter at Leeds Mail Centre in LS10 1AZ. This temporary Christmas role supports the busy peak period by unloading letters and parcels, moving mail around sorting centres, and assisting with sorting tasks. No prior warehouse experience is required, just enthusiasm and reliability.

You’ll work a variety of shifts—early, late, nights or weekends—with pay rates tied to the shift pattern (£13.69–£16.44 per hour). Night shifts are not available to under 18s.

• Organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.

Looking for a temporary Christmas job? Whether you're looking to earn extra money, gain experience in a busy warehouse environment, or to be part of something meaningful, this role is for you. No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required - just bring your enthusiasm and we'll provide the rest.

'Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you'll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available at Leeds Mail Centre, Leodis House, Leodis Way, LEEDS, LS10 1AZ, including the following core shift patterns:

• Earlies: 06:00 - 14:00 (£13.69 p/h)
• Lates: 14:00 - 22:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)
• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.
