Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting seasonal Mail Sorters in the Bristol area to support the Christmas peak. No prior warehouse experience is needed; training will be provided and you can earn extra during busy periods.

Role involves unloading items, moving mail through centres, and sorting swiftly and accurately. Shifts include afternoons, nights and weekends at Bristol Mail Centre or South West Parcel Hub.

Join the Royal Mail seasonal team and help deliver Christmas

Pay rate: hourly rate is dependent on the shift pattern you’re offered

Location: Bristol Mail Centre, Bristol BS34 7ST and South West Parcel Hub, BS35 4GG

Every year, Royal Mail brings festive cheer to millions, and we couldn’t do it without our brilliant seasonal team. No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required – just bring your enthusiasm and we’ll provide the rest.

‘Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you’ll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available, including the core shift patterns below, at:

Bristol Mail Centre, Gloucester Road, Filton, BRISTOL, BS34 7ST

South West Parcel Hub, Western Approach Distribution ark, Severnside, BRISTOL, BS35 4GG,

• Lates: 14:00 - 22:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)
• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What You’ll Need To Join The Team

You don’t need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We’re looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
