Job summary

Yorkshire Garden Centres at Otley Garden Centre is seeking a Seasonal Retail Assistant on a fixed-term contract until December 2026. You will help customers, maintain inviting displays and deliver great service during the Christmas season.

The role averages 19.25 hours per week with alternate weekends, including shift patterns and flexible cover across departments to support seasonal merchandising and stock replenishment.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Strong customer service skills and confidence speaking with customers.
• Experience replenishing stock and maintaining high retail standards.
• A good eye for detail and visual presentation.
• Merchandising or visual merchandising experience would be highly advantageous.
• A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to support across different departments.

Responsibilities

• Delivering excellent customer service and product advice.
• Maintaining attractive, well-stocked retail displays.
• Supporting seasonal merchandising and Christmas displays.
• Processing deliveries and replenishing stock.
• Operating tills and handling transactions accurately.
• Helping keep the shop floor safe, clean and inviting.
• Supporting colleagues across the garden centre when required.
