Job summary

Yorkshire Garden Centres is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for Otley Garden Centre. This part-time, temporary entry-level role runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, starting early November for about 8–10 weeks.

You will join a busy catering team, helping to prepare menu items, handle deliveries, maintain hygiene, and keep the kitchen organised. Ideal for someone with kitchen/Catering experience and a positive team attitude.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen, catering or hospitality environment.
• Works well in a busy team and communicates effectively.
• Is organised, reliable and able to use their initiative.
• Understands food hygiene, allergens and kitchen safety.
• Can stay calm under pressure and maintain high standards.
• Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking menu items to a high standard.

• Receiving, storing and organising deliveries.
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleaning standards.
