Job summary

Red Recruit is seeking an experienced Seafreight Import Operator to join a well-established freight forwarding and supply chain company based in West Yorkshire. You will manage shipments from origin to final delivery and build strong customer relationships in a busy operational environment.

The role requires knowledge of import procedures, shipping documentation, and customs; you will coordinate with shipping lines, agents and hauliers, and provide timely updates and quotations.

Qualifications

• Experience in Seafreight Import operations within a freight forwarding environment.
• Strong understanding of import procedures and shipping documentation.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Seafreight Import shipments from origin through to final delivery.
• Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers.
• Arrange collections, deliveries and onward transportation.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
• Provide quotations and respond to customer enquiries.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide regular updates.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
