Job summary

Red Recruit is recruiting an experienced Seafreight Import Operator to join our client in West Yorkshire. The role covers end-to-end management of sea freight imports, liaising with shipping lines, agents, hauliers and customers to ensure smooth delivery.

You will coordinate collections and onward transport, prepare documentation such as Bills of Lading, handle customs clearance, provide timely quotations and updates, and work closely with colleagues in a busy operations environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Seafreight Import operations within a freight forwarding environment.
• Knowledge of import procedures, shipping documentation and customs requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and stay organized.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Seafreight Import shipments from origin to final delivery.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers.
• Arrange collections, deliveries and onward transportation.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure documentation is in place.
• Provide quotations and respond to customer enquiries.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide updates.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth service.
