Job summary

Spring Supply Chain in Leeds is seeking an experienced Sea Import Clerk to manage sea import shipments end-to-end, coordinate with overseas agents and hauliers, and ensure documentation is accurate and timely.

This role sits in a busy team of 17 within a forwarder, offering stability and the opportunity to develop your career in freight forwarding.

Salary up to £36,000 and a pension scheme are on offer, with Leeds-based duties and scope to grow with the business.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage sea import shipments from origin through to final delivery.
• Handle import documentation and ensure paperwork is accurate and completed on time.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines and hauliers.
• Arrange customs clearance and coordinate deliveries.
• Track shipments and keep customers updated on progress.
• Deal with shipment delays, queries and issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate shipment files and ensure imports are processed efficiently.

An established freight forwarding business is looking for an experienced Sea Import Clerk to join its team in Leeds. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in sea freight imports who enjoys working in a busy team environment and has a good understanding of the import process.

The Role

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a sea freight import role within a freight forwarding environment
• Good understanding of the sea import process from start to finish
• Knowledge of import documentation and customs procedures
• Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments.Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well as part of a team
