Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales is seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The role is a fixed-term/secondment until 30 September 2027, with permission from your current manager required for applying for the secondment position.

The post supports urgent care delivery, working within acute hospital settings and a multidisciplinary team. Welsh language skills are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject.
• Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
• Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures in a healthcare setting, including safeguarding and GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Patient care and support, including dressing, hygiene and mobility assistance.
• Infection prevention and cleanliness.
• Nutrition and hydration support.
• Monitoring including vital signs and BMI; report findings to the supervising clinician.
• Diagnostic support: point-of-care testing and sample collection.
• Pressure area care and reporting abnormalities.
• Documentation and communication with patients, carers and staff.
