Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a motivated Junior Sister/Charge Nurse for the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit in Wales. The role involves leading nursing teams, coordinating patient flow, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The post offers development opportunities, rotation across the Acute Medical Team, and a supportive multidisciplinary team. Welsh language ability is desirable, but English speakers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Part 1.
• NMC Registration current.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
• Postgraduate diploma or willingness to undertake additional postgraduate study.
• Bronze IQT qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff and support workers.
• Coordinate patient flow for timely assessment, treatment and discharge.
• Deliver safe, compassionate care to acutely unwell patients.
• Support and mentor junior staff and preregistration students.
• Collaborate with the MDT to optimise patient outcomes.
• Maintain high standards of care, safety and documentation.

Education

Bachelor degree (or equivalent experience)
