Job summary

Amazon is looking for an innovative Software Development Engineer II to build real-time middleware and runtime software powering AWS Data Center Builder Tools. You will design systems that sit between industrial hardware and the cloud, enabling reliable data exchange and scalable control across global data centers.

You will own core runtime components, develop high-performance, low-latency services, and collaborate with hardware, controls, and security teams to deliver robust, ship-ready

Qualifications

• Experience in professional, non-internship software development.
• Experience with real-time or embedded systems is preferred.
• Proficiency in object-oriented design and multi-language data exchange is valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and build real-time middleware and runtime components for low-latency data movement.
• Integrate with industrial protocols and device drivers across languages and hardware.
• Own edge-to-cloud data paths with QoS and store-and-forward behavior.
• Support testing, code reviews, and operational excellence for owned components.
• Collaborate with hardware, controls, and operations teams to ship software.
