AWS is seeking a System Development Engineer to help deploy, manage, and reinvent software tools that support the AWS network. You will design, implement, and improve automation across services, enabling reliable operation at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• Relevant experience in software development, systems engineering, SRE or DevOps roles
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP)
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (host networking, storage, linux operating systems)

Responsibilities

• Identifying and solving challenging systems, process and tooling issues to make things better for our customers
• Designing and implementing entire new software components, products or services which improve operational efficiency
• Investigating technical issues thoroughly, performing root cause analysis, identifying changes to procedures and systems and implementing long term fixes to avoid repeating issues.
• Providing solutions to technically challenging real business problems in a global organization
