Job summary

Amazon is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the design and evolution of real-time middleware and controls that power industrial systems across AWS Data Centers. You will own the architecture and roadmaps, bridging embedded hardware with cloud services and driving performance, determinism, and secure data exchange.

Qualifications

Experience leading architecture and design of complex software systems.
Experience in professional, non-internship software development.
Knowledge of best practices for full software development life cycle, including code reviews and testing.

Responsibilities

Architect the end-to-end real-time middleware and controls platform.
Drive multi-quarter technical strategy for protocol support and cloud integration.
Own real-time correctness, latency, throughput, and failure modes at scale.
Lead cross-team efforts and align hardware, controls, security, and operations.
Raise engineering standards for testing, benchmarking, and operational excellence.
Mentor junior and mid-level SDEs and participate in hiring and bar-raising.
