Qualifications

  • Registered nurse with NMC/HCPC certification and relevant surgical experience.

Job description

Job Title: Scrub Nurse
Client Name: Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Basildon University Hospital
Role: Scrub Nurse
Rates: £20.84 - £26.58 per hour
Shifts: Block Bookings and Ad-hoc shifts available
Employment Type: Full Time

Main Duties/Responsibilities

As a Scrub Nurse, you will:

  • Monitor and maintain a sterile environment for the patient during surgical procedures.
  • Prepare, check, and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
  • Organize and prepare the clinical area to receive patients for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
  • Coordinate and maintain adequate stock levels of drugs, stores, and implants, liaising with the Theatre Manager and Procurement.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, ensuring a clear understanding of the procedure.
  • Prioritize care for patients undergoing surgical or anesthetic procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of patient care within the operating theatres through knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications
  • Current NMC/HCPC registration.
