Cokethorpe School invites applications for an enthusiastic and organised Science Technician to join our Science Department from September 2026. Working with the Head of Science, Head Technician and teaching staff, you will support practical science teaching across Physics, and also Biology and Chemistry up to A Level.
You will prepare and maintain resources for practical lessons, assist with demonstrations and experiments, and ensure the safe use and storage of equipment.
Cokethorpe School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Science Technician to join our successful Science Department from September 2026.
Working closely with the Head of Science, Head Technician and teaching staff, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting practical science teaching across the School, primarily within Physics, whilst also supporting Biology and Chemistry, including at A Level.
The role involves preparing and maintaining resources for practical lessons, assisting with demonstrations and experiments, ensuring the safe use and storage of equipment and materials, and helping to create an engaging and well-organised learning environment for pupils.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail and an interest in supporting high-quality science education.
Salary: c. £30,000–£36,000 FTE, depending on experience (£9,650–£11,581 per annum, pro rata for part-time hours and term-time-only working).
Hours: 7.45am–11.45am, 4 days per week (with flexibility regarding days worked). Term time only.
Start Date: September 2026
