Job summary

Pool Hayes Academy in Willenhall is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support science lessons, resources and practical activities. You will work with class teachers to enhance students’ learning and ensure safety during practical work.

The role is part-time (25 hours per week) across 39 weeks per year, on-site at WV12 4QZ. The salary ranges from £14,636 to £15,103 per annum, with NJC Scale Point 4–6. Closing date: 28 August 2026, 9.00am.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting science teaching and practicals in a school setting.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work with teachers to provide resources and technical support.

Pool Hayes Academy are looking to appoint a creative and organised Science Technician, with a real drive to enhance students’ experience of secondary education. The successful candidate will work in partnership with class teachers to support with resources, learning and technical support to meet the needs of the Science department.

Our Academy is a well led, dynamic team, whose colleagues all enjoy supporting the Academy and its culture of outstanding success amongst our students. The appointed candidate will ensure compliance with health and safety and security measures at all times and support teachers and students with practical activities.
