Job summary

Bright Star Talent Limited is supporting a Good-rated high school in Skelmersdale to appoint a reliable Science Technician. You will help deliver practical Science lessons, prepare labs, and safeguard a safe learning environment.

You will work closely with Science teachers, keeping labs well-equipped, safe and ready for lessons, while maintaining equipment and stock records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical Science lessons.
• Support teachers with demonstrations and experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Keep laboratories clean, organised and ready for lessons.
• Maintain and safely store scientific equipment, chemicals and resources.
• Carry out routine checks and report damaged equipment.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.
• Prepare resources in line with lesson requirements.
• Support teachers and students during practical activities.
• Maintain accurate equipment and stock records; assist smooth department operation.

Bright Star Talent are currently working with a Good-rated high school in Skelmersdale who are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and wants to play an important role in supporting the delivery of practical Science lessons across the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with Science teachers, ensuring laboratories are prepared, safe and fully equipped for practical lessons.

The Role

• Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical Science lessons.
• Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Ensuring laboratories are clean, organised and ready for lessons.
• Maintaining and safely storing scientific equipment, chemicals and resources.
• Carrying out routine checks and reporting any damaged or faulty equipment.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
• Preparing resources and materials in line with lesson requirements.
• Supporting teachers and students during practical activities where required.
• Maintaining accurate records of equipment and stock levels.Assisting with the smooth running of the Science department.
