Job summary

Samuel Whitbread Academy is seeking a Science Technician to support the Science Department and help hands-on learning in the lab occur safely each day. The role involves working closely with pupils and you will be engaging in regulated activity with children. It is a part-time post of 25 hours per week during term-time, including 5 pro rata staff training days.

Closing date: Midnight on Wednesday 2nd September 2026. Interview date: anticipated week commencing 6th July 2026.

BASED AT: Samuel Whitbread Academy

SALARY/GRADE RANGE: NJC Scale 2C Points 4 - 5 (FTE £25,185.00 - £25,583.00 pro rata; actual £14,816.00 - £15,050.00 per annum. Pay award pending)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Science Technician / Head of Science Department

HOURS: 25 hours per week (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri), term-time including 5 pro rata designated staff training days.
