Job summary

GLF Schools is recruiting a Senior IT Technician to deliver first and second line IT support across multiple primary schools in the region. The role involves regular field visits, with travel between schools and close collaboration with the Central IT team and Regional IT Partners.

The ideal candidate should have 1–2 years in a similar role, with hands-on experience in hardware and software installation, configuration and deployment.

GLF schools are looking to recruit a Senior IT Technician to work across multiple primary schools in the region.

Your Opportunity

The successful candidate will benefit from the support of our experienced IT teams located throughout Surrey and Oxfordshire will build links with the Central IT team and the Regional IT Partners.

The role will provide first and second line support in the field, working with a range of systems and users with varying skills and will need to find solutions to issues affecting all aspects of IT.

This is a field role comprising of regular scheduled visits, ad hoc and emergency visits as required to our current and future schools within the allocated region.

This is an exciting role with a varied work stream, and we require an intelligent and enthusiastic person who can think outside the box to solve issues independently, but who can also work effectively with our wider IT and school teams. Ideally, we would like the candidate to have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role and has experience with hardware and software, including installation, configuration and deployment.

Please note: The successful candidate will need to travel between schools; therefore, a driving licence is essential.

The Details

Pay Range: Specialist Point 1 - 16 - £27,061 - £30,791 FTE

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 36hrs a week (52 weeks a year)

Base Location: Highdown School, Reading

Closing Date: Wednesday 9th September 2026
