Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Rotherham area from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term supply position with an initial temporary contract and potential to secure a permanent role after a three-month probation.

You will plan and deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 science lessons, assess progress, differentiate for all learners and contribute to the department's development.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in Science or related subject.
• Experience teaching Science in a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of KS3/KS4 National Curriculum and Science specifications.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
• Two education or school-based references.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community and departmental development.

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Degree in Science or a related subject.
• Proven experience of teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and Science specifications at Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that inspire student engagement and achievement.
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Two education or school-based references.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
