Job summary

Harris Federation school in North West London is seeking a passionate Science Teacher to join from January 2027 on a long-term basis through to the end of the academic year.

You will deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, help students build confidence in biology, chemistry and physics to GCSE level, and collaborate with colleagues to raise attainment and progression.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level
• Able to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level or specialist in one discipline
• Confident delivering practical Science lessons
• Strong classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging, well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach Science in line with the curriculum and examination requirements.
• Prepare students for GCSE Science examinations.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join the school from January 2027 on a long-term basis through to the end of the academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Science teacher to join a supportive secondary school environment and play an important role in developing students' scientific knowledge, confidence and academic progress.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop their understanding of scientific concepts and preparing them effectively for GCSE examinations.

Key Responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Science teacher who is:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experienced teaching Science at secondary level.
• Confident teaching across KS3 and KS4.
• Able to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level, or a strong specialist in one of the three disciplines.
• Confident delivering practical Science lessons.
• A strong classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management skills.
• Able to differentiate effectively and support students with additional needs.
