Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Science Teacher to deliver GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics at a 14-16 provision in Warwick. You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, support learners with diverse needs, and help shape a new curriculum within a small college setting.

The role requires QTS or QTLS, and a proven track record in GCSE Science with a focus on inclusive practice and safeguarding. Full-time permanent position, term-time plus 39 teaching weeks per year, based in Warwick.

Qualifications

Salary: £34,626 - £38,922 per annum (Lecturer Scale Points 5-7)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (37 hours per week, 39 teaching weeks per year)

This college provides 14- to 16-year-olds with an alternative educational path combining core GCSEs with practical qualifications in Engineering or Motor Vehicle. As part of our team, you won't just teach Science-you will actively shape the curriculum, remove barriers to learning, and support students from diverse backgrounds, including those with SEMH needs or SEN, in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum & Delivery: Plan, develop, and teach high-quality GCSE Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• Student Support & Engagement: Monitor individual student progress, maintain accurate tracking records, and implement tailored interventions, particularly for learners with SEND, SEMH, or EAL needs.
• Environment & Culture: Cultivate a safe, positive, and well-disciplined classroom environment that promotes high expectations, strong values, and positive behavior.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Headteacher of 14-16, maintain regular contact with parents/carers, and collaborate with the wider college team.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS. GCSE grade A*-C (9-4) or equivalent in English and Maths.
• Teaching Experience: Proven track record of successfully teaching GCSE Science and a strong understanding of GCSE specifications (AQA, Edexcel, or Eduqas).
• Inclusion Expertise: Experience working with learners with SEND, EAL, or SEMH needs, with strong pastoral support skills.
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding principles and a commitment to promoting young people's welfare.
