Job summary

Veritas Education in West London is seeking a passionate Science or Maths Graduate to join our partner secondary school as a Science & Maths Teaching Assistant. You will provide one-on-one and small-group support, helping students understand concepts and improve communication.

This full-time term-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with daily rates of £100–£110. A bachelor's degree in Science or Maths is required, and DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science/Maths or related field.
• Experience with young people in educational setting is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Enthusiasm for working with young people and supporting development.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, focusing on improving their subject understanding, communication skills, specifically with students who also have additional learning needs.
• Collaborate with Science and Maths teachers to deliver engaging and interactive lessons, catering to the individual needs of students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting student engagement and participation.
• Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities related to English, such as literary clubs, debating societies, or drama productions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Science/Maths or a related field.
• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
• Enthusiasm for working with young people and supporting their educational and personal development.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
