Veritas Education is seeking an English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a Barnet school starting October 2026. You will support the English department across KS3-KS4 and work with pupils of varying abilities to build confidence and progress.

English Graduate Teaching Assistant - Starting October 2026

Are you an English graduate with a passion for working with young people? Do you enjoy problem-solving, supporting others, and want to make a genuine impact in the classroom? We are looking for an enthusiastic, academically strong graduate to join the team in a school in Barnet as an English Teaching Assistant.

As an English Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teaching and learning in the English department across KS3-KS4
  • Work with pupils of varying abilities, including high achievers and those needing targeted support
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group intervention to help students build confidence and master key concepts
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment

We are looking for someone who is:

  • An English graduate (or related discipline)
  • Experienced working or volunteering with children or young people
  • Reliable, committed, and patient, with a genuine desire to help students progress
  • A confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Passionate about education and keen to gain school-based experience - ideal if you're considering teacher training
