Job summary

Harris Academy Peckham is seeking a qualified, experienced teacher to join as Lead Practitioner of Science. The role requires QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, with a strong track record in outstanding teaching, behaviour management and student outcomes.

You will lead teaching and learning across the science faculty, contribute to curriculum planning, and collaborate with governors and the Harris Federation to drive school improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status is required with evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Demonstrated outstanding teaching practice and strong behaviour management.
• Experience with lesson observations and giving robust feedback.
• Experience with improvement planning and implementing strategies to raise achievement.
• Contribute to improving learning quality and curriculum.
• Proven track record of excellent results at KS3/KS4, with KS5 experience preferred.
• Experience of pupil tracking and feedback practices, and working with governors.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate as part of the Lead Practitioner Team to realise a shared vision of excellence.
• Account for students' performance in line with academy procedures.
• Provide the Governing Body with relevant information on faculty performance and development.
• Support and participate in Harris Federation activities and subject groups as appropriate.
• Contribute to academy policies and ensure their consistent implementation.
• Ensure high-quality teaching and learning across the faculty or academy.
• Participate in duties during lunch, break, before, during and after school.
• Ensure exemplary subject knowledge and behaviour within the faculty.
• Ensure quality Schemes of Learning and Independent Work books.
