Job summary

The Becket School in West Bridgford is seeking a part-time Science Technician to support our science faculty. The role is 27 hours per week, term time only (17 permanent, 10 fixed-term until 31 August 2027).

You will prepare experiments, set up apparatus, carry out risk assessments and manage stock to support practical work across KS3–KS5 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We value a science background and a higher level qualification, IT proficiency and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Background in Science with a higher level qualification (e.g., A level or degree).
• IT proficient with excellent communication skills.
• Experience providing support for practical science activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apparatus and materials for lessons and demonstrations.
• Carry out risk assessments and manage stock and waste.
• Provide technical support across KS3–KS5 biology, chemistry and physics.
