Job summary

The Becket School in West Bridgford is seeking a Science Technician to support science teachers with practical lessons and experiment setup. You will prepare materials, carry out risk assessments, manage stock and assist across KS3–KS5 science.

We value IT proficiency, clear communication and a supportive, professional approach. This role is term-time only with 27 hours per week, including 17 permanent and 10 fixed-term hours until 31 August 2027.

Qualifications

• Background in Science with a higher level science qualification (A level or degree).
• IT proficient with excellent communication skills.
• Able to inspire learning and support students.
• Organised and reliable with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Arrange apparatus and materials for lessons.
• Prepare experiments and set up demonstrations.
• Prepare chemicals and solutions as required.
• Support student well-being and provide guidance.
• Organise technical support across KS3–KS5 biology, chemistry and physics.
