Job summary

An esteemed and highly regarded all-girls school in Warwick is seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Science Technician to join their dynamic science department. This is a crucial support role dedicated to ensuring the smooth and safe delivery of high-quality practical lessons for both students and staff.

Collaborate with science teachers to prepare and set up equipment, maintain resources, advise on health & safety, manage stock, and ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste.

Qualifications

• Valid right to work in the UK.
• Clear Enhanced DBS check.
• UK Science Degree (or overseas equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety standards.
• Experience in a laboratory setting or as a School Science Technician in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with science teachers to prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical lessons.
• Safely maintain, store, and repair laboratory resources and equipment.
• Act as a safety advisor, guiding pupils and staff on proper protocols and safe working practices.
• Oversee stock levels and place timely orders for new materials and replacements.
• Ensure the safe disposal of hazardous laboratory waste.
