Job summary

Aspire People, on behalf of a large secondary school in Newport, is seeking a resilient and engaging Science Teacher for an immediate start on a long-term basis. You will deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, support learners with varying abilities and manage behaviour to maintain a positive, structured classroom.

The ideal candidate holds QTS or equivalent, can confidently teach Biology, Chemistry and General Science, and can motivate pupils who may be disengaged.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Science in a secondary school.
• Confident teaching Biology, Chemistry and General Science.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

Aspire People are recruiting on behalf of a large secondary school in Newport for a strong Science Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis with an immediate start available.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and adaptable teacher who can build positive relationships, establish clear boundaries and engage learners of mixed abilities. The successful candidate will primarily be working with lower ability classes and pupils who can present challenging behaviour, so strong behaviour management skills are essential for success in this role.

The Role:

• Deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Support learners with a wide range of abilities, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum.
• Manage behaviour effectively and create a positive, structured learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with students to improve engagement, attendance and progress.
• Work closely with pastoral and leadership teams to support student development.
• Full-time, long-term opportunity with an immediate start.

The Ideal Candidate:
