Job summary

Herefordshire Council is recruiting a proactive Experts at Hand Coordinator to support schools and settings across Herefordshire. You will manage requests, coordinate with specialist teams and ensure clear communication and follow-up actions.

You will join a new service designed to provide a clear route to specialist advice and support, shaping how it works and improving accessibility for children and young people.

Qualifications

• Experience of administration, coordination or customer-facing support in a busy service.
• Good standard of education including English and maths (GCSE grade C/4 or above) or equivalent experience.
• Relevant training or qualification in administration, business support or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for schools seeking support.
• Welcome and acknowledge requests and explain what happens next.
• Gather information to understand each request.
• Coordinate requests and connect schools to the right specialist team or pathway.
• Maintain clear communication and track actions, decisions and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate service records and respond professionally to inquiries.
• Work with Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and SEND services.
