Job summary

South Ayrshire Council invites applications for a School Support Assistant role. The position focuses on relieving teachers of non-teaching duties, including classroom administration and practical tasks such as preparing teaching materials, under the direction of the classroom teacher and other colleagues.

You will support learning activities and help pupils, including those with additional support needs, while maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils, including those with additional needs.
• Ability to assist with classroom administration and materials.
• Willingness to obtain PVG scheme membership as required.

Responsibilities

• Relieve teachers of non-teaching duties and help prepare teaching materials.
• Support learning activities of children under direction of teachers and colleagues.
