Job summary

The Globe Primary Academy is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, maintenance and safety of the school site. You will oversee contractors, supervise premises staff and ensure a clean, secure environment for pupils and staff.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills, strong health and safety knowledge, and the ability to organise and prioritise in a busy school setting. A proactive approach and commitment to safeguarding are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in site management, preferably in schools.
• Skilled in general maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of health & safety including CoSHH, Legionella and asbestos.
• Able to supervise staff and coordinate with contractors.
• Physically capable of lifting and manual tasks.
• Organised, proactive and able to prioritise workload.
• Committed to a safe, secure environment for pupils and staff.
• Relevant qualifications in premises management or health & safety desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site management, maintenance and cleanliness of buildings and grounds.
• Supervise premises staff and contractors; obtain quotes and monitor work.
• Conduct regular safety checks and statutory compliance tasks (fire alarms, lighting, water hygiene, asbestos, PAT).
• Maintain security and access control; respond to emergency call-outs as keyholder.
• Monitor energy usage and manage deliveries and room setups for events.
