Job summary

Globe Primary Academy in the UK is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance, security and cleanliness of the school site, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

You will supervise premises staff, coordinate contractors, carry out repairs, and ensure full compliance with health and safety requirements, including responding to emergencies as a keyholder. A proactive, organised approach is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Experience in site management, ideally within a school or similar setting.
• Skilled in general maintenance, repairs and use of tools/equipment.
• Knowledgeable about health & safety regulations including CoSHH, manual handling, Legionella and asbestos.

Responsibilities

• Ensure school buildings and grounds are clean, tidy and well maintained.
• Implement daily housekeeping and health & safety routines.
• Carry out minor repairs and DIY tasks across the site.
• Monitor cleaning standards and supervise cleaning staff.
• Manage contractors and oversee small maintenance projects with quotes and oversight.
• Conduct regular checks and statutory compliance tasks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, water hygiene, asbestos, PAT testing).
• Ensure safe access to the school during adverse weather.
• Maintain site security and respond to emergencies as a keyholder.
• Manage energy usage and monitor utilities readings.
• Provide porterage and set up rooms for events and deliveries.
