Job summary

Woolmer Hill School is seeking a proactive caretaker to cover a range of duties including security, porterage and regular maintenance to ensure a safe environment. The role involves liaising with contractors, inspecting premises and maintaining stock records, with a focus on health and safety compliance.

The person will also assist with heating/lighting, cleaning designated areas, and supporting lettings on evenings or weekends, plus attending emergencies as required.

Qualifications

• Caretaking duties to agreed quality standards including security, porterage and maintenance.
• Liaison with contractors, obtain quotations and supervise on site ensuring H&S compliance.
• Regular site inspections, recording repairs, and contacting contractors as needed.
• Maintain logs of deliveries and stock to support cleaning staff and operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure premises security and act as key holder where required.
• Attend heating, lighting and boiler plant equipment maintenance; report faults.
• Carry out cleaning and upkeep of designated areas to high standards.
• Support hirers for evening/weekend lettings and handle emergencies when needed.
• Undertake other duties within the post as defined and agreed.
