Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Premises Officer / Caretaker for a full-time role at a welcoming Greenwich school. You will oversee day-to-day maintenance, safety and security of the premises, carry out repairs and basic DIY, and liaise with contractors to manage external works.

The ideal candidate will have proven premises/site management experience, be reliable and highly organized, and able to work independently while prioritising multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Premises Officer, Caretaker, Site Manager or similar role.
• Strong practical knowledge of building maintenance and site management.
• Reliable, organised and proactive with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience within a school or educational setting is desirable.
• Relevant degree or qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, safety and security of the school premises
• Carry out general repairs, maintenance and basic DIY
• Complete regular site inspections and ensure facilities are safe and well maintained
• Liaise with contractors and oversee external works
• Manage opening, closing and security procedures
• Support compliance with health and safety requirements
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies
• Assist with general site and facilities management duties as required
