Job summary

Academics Ltd is recruiting a reliable Site Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Chatham. You will open and secure premises, carry out general maintenance, health and safety checks, set up classrooms and outdoor areas, and support deliveries and site logistics.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Site Assistant or similar, a practical hands-on approach, and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one). Permanent, 25 hours per week, starting September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in similar site or facilities roles.
• Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure the school premises daily.
• Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks.
• Perform routine health and safety checks across the site.
• Ensure buildings and grounds are safe, clean and well-maintained.
• Set up classrooms, halls, and outdoor areas for events.
• Monitor site security and report concerns.
• Assist with deliveries, contractor access, and site logistics.
• Support day-to-day upkeep of facilities and grounds.
