Job summary

Academics Ltd is recruiting a reliable Site Assistant to join a primary school in Gravesend. This fixed-term rolling contract role offers 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with duties including opening/closing premises, general maintenance and health and safety tasks.

Start date is September 2026. You will support classroom setup, site logistics, and ensure buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Assistant or similar facilities role.
• Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Opening and locking the school premises daily.
• Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks.
• Completing routine health and safety inspections across the site.
• Ensuring the buildings and grounds are clean, safe and well-maintained.
• Setting up classrooms, halls and outdoor areas for events and activities.
• Monitoring site security and reporting concerns.
• Assisting with deliveries, contractor access and site logistics.
• Supporting day-to-day upkeep of facilities and equipment.
