Job summary

Connex Education Partnership in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated School Science Technician to support laboratory activities in an educational setting. You will maintain equipment, construct and modify apparatus, and set up experiments to assist practical classes and ensure a safe learning environment.

You will provide technical support to students, manage resources and budgets, and ensure health and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSEs at C/4 or above.
• Knowledge of the Secondary national curriculum standards.
• NQV Level 3 in Laboratory Technicians in Education (LATA) or equivalent beneficial.
• Degree in a science-related subject.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislations.
• Enhanced DBS via update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment and supervise laboratory resources.
• Construct and modify apparatus and set up experiments.
• Assist in practical classes and demonstrations.

About the role

Connex Education is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support laboratory activities in an educational setting. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment, constructing and modifying apparatus, and setting up experiments. You will actively participate in laboratory demonstrations, assist in practical classes, and provide technical support to students. Additionally, you will manage resources, oversee budgets, and ensure all procedures comply with current health and safety standards.

Role Requirements
